Oocyte donation is the last chance to give birth to a child for many married couples and single women.
Indications for IVF using donor egg cells:
♦ oocyte absence due to menopause;
♦ premature ovarian failure syndrome;
♦ oophorectomy, postradio or chemotherapy state;
♦ genital anomalies (gonadal dysgenesis, Turner syndrome);
♦ the risk of hereditary diseases associated with the sex (hemophilia, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, ichthyosis, Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease);
♦ unsuccessful repeated IVF attempts (4 or more) with insufficient ovarian response to superovulation induction, repeated retrieval of low-quality embryos.
Oocyte donors undergo a thorough examination. There is an opportunity to pick up the appropriate donor for the blood group, the Rh factor, and also for the phenotypic features (color of eyes, color of hair, height).
Our clinic uses oocytes of the women who deliberately give their egg cells to help couples who want to have a baby. In this case, there is complete anonymity both regarding the donor and the future parents. In addition, non-anonymous oocyte donation is possible, when a relative or friend of a recipient patient acts as a donor.
In terms of recipients of donor oocytes, the program looks like this:
♦ selection of the appropriate oocyte donor (egg cell donation)
♦ synchronization of donor and recipient cycles (in the presence of the recipient menstrual cycle)
♦ oocyte donor hormone stimulation – is needed to get more oocytes
♦ transvaginal oocyte retrieval
♦ fertilization of the received donor oocytes by the sperm of a male recipient patient, cultivation of the received embryos within 3-5 days
♦ transfer one or two best embryos to the recipient’s uterus, cryopreservation of the remaining good quality embryos, control of the onset of pregnancy.
REQUIREMENTS FOR OOCYTE DONORS:
♦ a woman aged 18-36;
♦ presence of a born healthy child, documented;
♦ absence of negative phenotypic manifestations;
♦ good somatic health;
♦ absence of contraindications for participation in the program;
♦ absence of hereditary diseases;
♦ absence of bad habits.
