IUI

Intrauterine insemination is one of the methods of assisted reproductive technologies that is as close to natural fertilization as possible.
This method is recommended for couples who cannot conceive a baby during a year of active sexual life without the use of any contraceptive. Intrauterine insemination can be used in the treatment of both female and male infertility.

The procedure consists of several steps. The prepared sperm of a man is introduced into the uterus through a special catheter made of hypoallergenic, soft materials. This is the only one “unnatural” moment in the whole procedure. Then everything happens naturally – the active sperm in the fallopian tubes gets to the egg, meets with it and the process of fertilization takes place.

The procedure can be performed both in the natural menstrual cycle and with the use of inducers of superovulation. It should be noted that the frequency of pregnancy in the natural cycle is lower than in the stimulated one. Insemination, in combination with fertility drugs that stimulate the maturation of the follicles, increases the rate of pregnancy.
